My dp has been a real sweetheart today

ds has chickenpox and we are both really snowed under at work and dp took two days off so I could go in, has looked after ds like a good'un, with lots of playing and gourmet lunch! he has also got dinner ready. I am off now to give him a break. I am posting this in haste - v rushed - to show anyone else who might be interested there is hope when things have been bleak (we have had some ups and downs this year)

and now dp has chickenpox! he got it on his birthday! where's the justice in that?!

Really nice to hear some good feedback about a dh. MN is a wonderful source of support when things aren't going well with your partner, but it's nice recognise the good times too!

Excellent, very nice to hear, hope your ds gets better soon. My dp has improved a lot in the past month, from caveman to gentleman, even nicer than when I first met him so there is hope

My dh deserves praise too. Whilst I have been on crutches since injuring my knee and having it operated on, he has catered for my every need, got up every night when needed for the baby, done the baths, done washing, ironing and cleaning, ran the kids around to their activities and done the shopping. Countless other chores too. He's still got to do all this when he starts back at work tonight too.

He has gone from domestic slob to domestic god in less than two weeks bless him!

ds helped me paint dp with calamine when we got home I have NEVER seen so many spots in all my life
Glad to hear about some other dp/h's too. I posted this here in particular as things have improved for us, I am much happier, and I just want to say it IS possible. dp still a way off gentleman/domestic god, I'd say, but there's always room for improvement Long may the upturn last (she says throwing salt over her left shoulder etc)

Sorry dont normally post on these threads, but read with interest. Just had to butt in and say to Ninah and everyone else that this is one of the nicest threads I have read on here and it really makes a refreshing change.

Also, HappyDaddy, it's great to get a guys perspective aswell! Keep posting all!

Incidentallly my DP has his moments, but all in all hes a great guy too and I wouldnt swap him for the world!

Ninah, your poor dh - I had chicken pox aged 25 and it was sooo horrible. Apparently it's much worse to get it as an adult!

Lottie he's 47! a bit better today thank goodness. Doctor gave him some tablets he says to prevent a coma? but on the packet says to prevent shingles
A lot brighter. Soon he will be restless bored and grumpy, look forward to normality being restored!
