well, if you want more details here is what I suggest, the company have a website, and they do do introduction evening s where you can go and here about it, but I found that the people who do the introductions are really not that good and they de-value the quality of the coaching which is 'exceptional' really exceptional, so I would just go on it, it will change your life, and tell you how to do it, in a way that works every day - all the time

OK guys, thanks for your responses, let me get the record really straight, The Landmark Forum is not affiliated to any religion, it does not defer to or dismiss any religion, it does not mention religion. There where all sorts of people on the course, from every religion and from no religion, (I would guess) 'cos it doesn't come up. I am a researcher, I have researched all kinds of things, from cosmetics to personal develpment to whether cats prefer fish or fish!!!! I am also a mum of two, have been divorced, remarried, made redundant, self employed and all I can say is if you are really willing to just take a chance on something that will absolutely improve your life by 500% whether you think your life needs improving or not then this is the one. It works on every level, for anyone, you can really do anything after this, it works, it works, it works, and they do it for children aswell!!!!!

I had a friend who attended the Landmark Forum then turned into some sort of crazed zombie. She married her boyfriend who she had known for only 3 months, he controlled their lives so completly that she missed out on all the travelling that she had planned and had two children in quick succession. Up till that point she had been adamant about delaying having children till after she had travelled. She cut off most of her friends and family and only now, years later starting to return to the independant thinker she was before.
I'm sorry, but after having to deal with the fall out, I think the Landmark Forum has borderline cult status. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

From what I have heard about this, it's one of those 'programmes' whereby the 'graduates' are then pressured into signing up friends/colleagues etc.. for more courses and also pressured themselves into signing up for more advanced classes. My friend's boss is always trying to sign up his new employees to this 'life-changing experience'......
If you check this out on Google you'll find some more critical articles amongst all the effusive praise.

Thanks to everyone for their input, I've heard all the negative stuff before, and of course we are all going to have our opinions, this website is full of opinions, some of which we will use some we will dismiss, look at all the books you have already all rushed out and bought, don't deny it you know you have, and remember all the things you bought for your kids on someone elses reccommendatiion and then another person made your decision wrong, etc etc, what we are doing here with The Landmark Forum discussion is no different, if you want to believe everything you read in a newspaper great, we all believe some things we read in the paper, as a researcher I was very sceptical, I read all the borderline 'cult'status stuff aswell and you know what I don't care - it has really worked for me,it has given me the confidence to do all sorts of things I have never done before, so as a human being I want to share my experience and if it helps then great, if it gives you something to laugh at great, I am laughing at myself for even doing this whole 'tell everyone on a website' thing, however it has been great fun and I really thank you for you comments, I have been a member of mumsnet for a long time, long before I did the 'Landmark Forum' and my life was working before. Thanks Kylie

Tinker, thanks for that link ... very, very interesting ...
I think that Landmark sounds extremely dodgy and none of us should touch it with a bargepole ... unless you want to be a basket case for the rest of your life. These types of things are very dangerous ...
Kylie ... Edgarcat is right - this is an advert ...and you are praying on those of us that might feel that we need something extra in our lives ... I believe it is wrong of you to do this ...
Kylie · 23/05/2003 10:42
Dear Ghosty,
How are you so certain I am 'praying' on people what does that mean? don't get carried away here, you don't know me, all I did was share an experience, the website you refer to is American, if you search the web you will find some really bad press about everything take for example the Catholic Church, are you going to discourage people from joing a religion next??? Get a grip! I am very apologetic if you have translated this as an advert, I shared an experience, I didn't think it was a 'call to action for anyone, and I haven't made anybody 'wrong' for sharing an experience, yet you have tried to make me wrong, look at the facts, what have I actually asked people to do?
Ghosty · 23/05/2003 11:00
Kylie ... I have looked at both the Landmark Forum site and some others. And I do have a little experience in this kind of thing actually ... like slug I had a friend who got into this and she changed completely ... she spent most of her time trying to persuade people to do join her and then eventually had to have counselling as her marriage nearly fell apart over it.
I am glad you have had a good experience from this but it did seem like an advert to me ... sorry if I misinterpreted your original post ...
