What can I do to show DH we are proud of him?

DH starts a new job today with significantly longer hours. It pays better and he is doing this so that I can be a stay at home Mum.

What can I do for him to show him that I really appreciate this?

I was thinking steak and chips for dinner, but it doesn't sound very original.

You and the kids make him a card?
Arrange a special day out on the weekend?
Get the kids to help cook a pudding for him?

Believe me, any man will be over the moon with steak & chips and his fav pud & beer.

I cook dh's fav meal every now and again as a surprise and I don't need to say a word, he knows I'm saying "I love you" too him.

That sounds way too soppy doesn't it!

My DH would think steak and chips was a lovely thank-you. Even better with a homemade pudding and custard .

When my DH has done something amazing, I find a card I know he'll like and write in it telling him how great he is and how happy he makes me. I'd also make sure you say how much you appreciate him doing this for you and your family. But I'd also make sure you make him a nice meal when he's tired after working the longer hours and look after him so he knows you're still appreciating him.

and I will get him a card and draw round DS's hand/foot in it

Thanks
