I am worried because i heard a rumour from a friend that the market stall selling all his stuff is 'fed" via the back door and not leagally bought wholesale from the usual source. I wont go into boring detail, but am worried if they know out on the streets, then he will get found out .. I dont want him to end up in prison.

If the rumours are reaching you then there must be some grounds for them. Why don't you want to ask him, is he a new DP? This could affect you if you live together and have DC etc.

maltesers · 27/05/2009 22:34

Yes, i think i will talk to a mutual friend who sell from a market stall too.

Will they know? I imagine it can be a close community.

junglist1 · 28/05/2009 07:46

It depends on the community whether he'll get found out. Where I live it's common and nobodys ever been caught, that's not just markets it's all sorts of cheap goods. If rumours are being spread it might be because it's considered a scandal? Is it a working class community like only Fools and Horses (seriously).

flamingobingo · 28/05/2009 07:48

Rather than ask him outright 'are you selling stolen goods?', say something like 'oh, I wanted to talk to you - would you believe it? So and so told me you were selling stolen goods!' and then wait and see what he says.

SoupDragon · 28/05/2009 07:49

Ask the police.

maltesers · 28/05/2009 13:49

Yeah, i reckon the Police are the best option......Help !

OP posts:
suwoo · 28/05/2009 13:59

Well if you ask the Police, you will be alerting them to the fact that he might be selling stolen goods. Is that your intention?

junglist1 · 28/05/2009 14:10

No don't tell the police. your P might get in trouble and you'll be an informer. What if people found out about that? I realise I'll get a lot of disagreement here, but from my perspective, nobodys been murdered, and informers are hated with a passion where I'm from.

maltesers · 28/05/2009 14:17

Hear what you're saying JUNGLIST1.. yeah i will hang fire and see what comes about. Maybe staying quiet is the best thing.

OP posts:
junglist1 · 28/05/2009 14:21

Hopefully it's not even true. Maybe tell him what you've heard, so if he is doing anything dodgy he'll be aware people are talking?

maltesers · 29/05/2009 16:47

cheers everyone ..!!

Imo you know there is a possibility a crime has been committed and you are staying quiet. Great example to your kids. I take it you are having sex with this guy? You can shag him but not trust him or talk to him?
