Pat on the back for Dh!

It's not that often that dh earns brownie points from me (though he is a v good dad and does lots with regard to sharing family duties), but I think this deserves a mention.

Last Friday dh drove me and our 4 children (I don't drive) on a 3hr journey so I could go to my niece's 18th birthday party. I'm not especially close to her, and really only fancied going because it is so rarely I get the chance to get out. To do this he had to cancel a day out he had planned for the next day, because we were staying overnight, and it was a one day a year event.

Today my friend told me our 6 monthly meet up was in jeopardy because her babysitting plans had all gone to pot. So ds offered to drive me to my friend's house (2 1/2 hours away) with our 4 children and babysit her kids too, which meant he would also stay the night and drive me home the next day! Just so I can go out for the night.

How great is that?!!!!!

Good for him - isn't it so much nicer when favours are offered rather than you having to ask.
Thumbs up for DH ( and DS too )

God lou33 - how did you manage that? Or what does he want? Seriously, he's a good man; after all the recent postings on mumsnet, I'm glad to hear there are some good ones left out there.

And he does all the school runs, does the shopping late at night alone so we don't have to take the kids, changes nappies as often as I do, knows the likes and dislikes of all 4 of our children as well me, cleans the kitchen.......

Am starting to feel a bit surplus to requirements here actually!

Lou33 that is really lovely. He sounds like a good man and you seem very happy with him.

I know beetroot but so often men don't seem to, that's why I said it. He is a good man, lots of things that drive me mad too, but v good in his heart.
