Any suggestions mnetters on how to think, feel and cope. My Ex will be there looking all proud, beaming in his joyous way to everyone. How do i manage the day . My only saving grace is a good friend is coming with me . What if his new dp is there.....???????????????

Just smile sweetly.

It's your ds's day surely? Be the bigger person, ignore and concentrate on your son.

ginnny · 21/05/2009 11:58

Look fantastic. Be polite but cool with him and concentrate on your ds and your friend.
Don't let him see you are bothered.
And enjoy it - I love Sports days.

Superduperloopthelooper · 21/05/2009 11:59

Think 'breezy'! Look unconcerned and happy. If you don't have to sit with him then ask your friend to keep an eye on where he is so that you can move on if necessary...

OTOH, it will be more satisfying from your point of view if you can interact with him on a purely polite level, and leave him thinking that you are doing just fine without him. If you avoid him (and possibly new dp) then you will seem bothered...

As pw said, concentrate on your ds and the time will probably fly by.

yes i second that
has your ds met the np?
i hate these events too as i always feel that all eyes are on me
just focus on your ds and mingle with the other parents

I too am dreading this and intend to follow the "bright and breezy" attitude.
XP wouldn't dare bring her new partner than God.
