How to end a marriage when he doesn't want to?

dh and I are recently seperated following another dv incident and years of problems in our marriage.
I probably haven't given it long enough yet, but feel happier without him here, and think all the trust and respect I had has gone.
He keeps writing saying how much he loves me and the children, phones saying he loves me and will give me space.
So if my heart is right and there are no longer all the components that add up to love, how do I tell him?

There's no easy way, just splurt it out.

If your happier without him then tell him exactly that.

Tell him he killed your love for him with his violence and that if he really loved you he wouldn't have hurt you. He has already ended it.

agree with claire2009 - tell him when he phones and starts saying that he loves that you are sorry but you no longer feel that way about him and there is no going back for you now. you can be friends with him as you have children together but any love you had died a long time ago.

it does sound like you are happier, so obv what your heart is saying is right.
