I know for me when I left xp I was more upset at leaving the dogs than him & the shit life.

But I found out recently that the Rspca do a scheme where they can take you're pet & put it into "Foster care" until you are settled.

It is just for the Uk (I think?!) but if you are leaving a domestic violence relationship & feel for the pet contact them. Its all on their website.

Nice one Claire, my relationship is abusive and TBH I'm here till dog has pups, then I'm out. The dogs are his he had them before we moved in together, I know he wouldn't hurt them, but some real bastards hurt animals on purpose to terrorise the family . It's about time schemes like this were put into place, people say just leave but some women know if they went to a refuge their pets would be dead. Simple.

Thanks for that, will mention it on the Emotional Abuse thread aswell. RSPCA should advertise this more widely, I had no idea!

Me either until I was browsing about the other day & it crossed my mind that here would be a good place to mention it

I didn't see the EA thread else I'd have put it there but good thinking
