Smelly Breath

I have been seeing someone for around 3 months and he is a lovely person. Only issue is that he has quite bad breath. It's not through lack of hygiene because he brushes his teeth just as much as I do. Sometimes it gets really bad, he'll go and get a drink and it will be ok again but within 10 minutes it starts to smell again.

It puts me off kissing him. I don't feel like I can raise it with him without upsetting or offending him.

How would you handle this?

buy him corsodol/mouthwash and floss as gums are probably in a bad way.

He does use mouthwash. I wonder if he is aware of it because he does seem to get himself a drink whenever it gets really bad and this morning he got up very early, brushed his teeth and then came back to bed.

A woman in the office I used to work in years ago had really bad breath, but her diet was not brilliant and we all wondered if this had something to do with it.

What is his diet like?

ridingjoker · 19/04/2009 20:59

yeah. agree could be dodgy diet or smoking aswell

HushKitten · 19/04/2009 20:59

Diet not very good to be honest. Pringles for breakfast etc.

I think you have found your answer...

Diet but also does he go to the dentist ie it might be worth him seeing a hygenist as well as altering diet.

Chew on a sprig of parsley then again it sounds like he needs a whole plant! Don't mean to sound glib.

Think the ideas of dentist/stomach issues/smoking are sound as already mentioned.

Good luck with it.
