I want to leave my husband, for a number of reasons. He has rather nicely got us into a very sticky finacial situation owing a great deal of money and there is no money left or coming in now to pay the mortgage.

Anyone know of any good websites so I can find out what I would be entitled to as a single parent? I don't want me and my babies to loose our house.

I was in a similar position to you, my ex secretly remortgaged and got us into SEVERE debt.
I was not working , not sure of your circumstances , but if your not working the dwp will pay the interest on your mortgage , only half at first but the full amount after so many weeks.
You,ll get income support, and tax credits for the children, plus help with council tax and school meals and travel.

It takes some sorting out and to be honest my jobcentre was not very good and didnt even tell me about help available with the mortgage.
Anyway, hope it all works out.

I am going through a situation like this at the moment and i know exactly how you are feeling. After 7 years of my husband constantly get us in debt and then remortgaging I have bitten the bullet and decided to leave this is not just the reason why I am leaving but I know he will never change and I can't go through this heartache again especially for our daughter no amount of pleading or beggin has ever stopped my husband from spending even when we have had no money for the mortgage etc .. Due to my husband starting his own business last year and the business owing debts too to suppliers as he has spent the money he owed the suppliers too I am now having to go bankraupt too and I am also losing my home. I work 25 hours a week and I am entitled to tax credits I have found somewhere to rent and fingers cross if it goes through I should be out of my house within the next couple of weeks I cannot stay here much longer. I feel I am going through a very dark tunnel but now have found some light even though there some things I don't want to do I am doing this for mine and my daught's future. I realised you only have one life and you need to be happy plus people don't change. I hope everything goes well for you and you are not on your ownx.
