That's it, really, is anyone else's DP/DH working over the Easter holiday? Mine is and I feel full of self -pity!

Arw sazzer, make sure you have lots of lovely treats lined up plus lots of chocolate of course!

twinsetandpearls · 11/04/2009 19:54

I have worked on and off but have got up early to do it so it does not intrude into family time.

sazzerbear · 11/04/2009 19:56

Thanks Pimmpom, I shall indeed! Today has not helped with a stroppy toddler for 11 hours. He was screaming when we had to leave the farm shop and it was a struggle to get him in the car, a woman gave me such a dirty look, felt like asking her if she wanted to make herself useful and help rather than gawp!!

yup - mine is too! rubbish isn't it!

dd won't see dh now til tuesday

sazzerbear · 11/04/2009 19:57

Poor you and dd MissisBoot - it really sucks, esp with a long bank holiday upon us. Wine and choc is the way to go tonight!

yes - I'm cracking open the vodka and then off to bed early to watch Little Miss Sunshine trying to resist any temptation to eat easter eggs

QuantitativeMeasure · 11/04/2009 20:05

Mine has gone on a Rugby 'tour' until either tomorrow or monday- he went yesterdy.

Im drinking wine!!

Pimmpom · 11/04/2009 20:14

Ooooh thanks MissisBoot, I had forgotten about Little Miss Sunshine

SpookyMadMummy · 11/04/2009 20:16

My DH is, coach driving in and out of London. I have a week old newborn and the Dd's to look after.
Am undecided how I feel, in a way its a relief cos i can get used to caring for the Dd's alone. Could do with a daytime kip though!!

sazzerbear · 11/04/2009 20:40

Probably best on your own!

Dh is a chef so everyone else's holiday family time is when he is busiest. His one day off a week is Monday so we are going to brave the zoo with kids.
It does get very frustrating when hearing about other families easter holiday plans I think the week the kids broke from school I was ready to nut the next person who asked if I had some lovely plans for the holidays.

LadyOfScoffleTheEasterEggs · 11/04/2009 20:46

Yeah - 7 days in a row, 14 hours. I feel full of self pity too!

onepieceofcremeegg · 11/04/2009 20:46

I have been working over Easter but am off tomorrow and Monday (am a nurse). Dh has the week off though. tbh we just muddle through and accept that sometimes due to childcare issues etc that we are sometimes off at different times.

That's the downside for people who work unsocial hours like me or Lilliput's dh.

My dp will be working monday, im not bothered, it is just another day really.

Countingthegreyhairs · 11/04/2009 21:16

yep, won't see mine until Tues either (he's travelling)

We are pretending that Easter is actually on Wednesday so we can all be together for dd's egg hunt in the garden...but I think this is the last year we will be able to get away with it as she is a bit suspicious about the whole thing ...

We could have really done with a family break tbh but no chance currently

Shambolic · 11/04/2009 21:21

Mine working all weekend too, his next day off is Tues and then the following weekend

SmallShips · 11/04/2009 21:23

Mine is too, duty weekend, doing bugger all except walking around 5 ships once a day and making sure they havent sunk/set on fire/flooded. What a waste of an Easter weekend.

Won't be home for christmas either, 6 months in Iraq, BOO!

RenderMeSpeechless · 11/04/2009 21:37

Yep, my Dh works in the Oil Industry on a 28 day rotation so I won't see him until the 25th. I am 30 wks pg and have a 16 mnth Dd to contend with so yes, I too am filled with self pity (am also filled with chocolate, banana smoothies and rollmop herring, but that's pregnany for ya)

tassisssss · 11/04/2009 21:39

mine's a minister and has several extra services and a funeral over this weekend, but we're off on holiday on Monday - woohoo!

roisin · 11/04/2009 21:41

Snap tassissss! Dh has had a busy week, but has still found time to help me with the decorating.

He's taken holiday for the evening service tomorrow, so we're heading off after the morning service: HOORAY!

hannahsaunt · 11/04/2009 21:41

Dh worked Friday and I'm working Monday. Just another weekend ... (other than significance of tomorrow obviously).

tassisssss · 11/04/2009 21:43

Hi roisin! Enjoy your hols!

cazboldy · 11/04/2009 21:45
