You've had a lot to cope with the last few days, I'm sure your Mum will understand.

Maybe you could take her out for lunch in a few weeks?

southeastastra · 20/03/2009 15:23

does she not live nearby? order some flowers?

jumpingbeans · 20/03/2009 15:29

Just write some heartfelt words in the card, that would more than enough for me

shootfromthehip · 20/03/2009 15:36

Make her a voucher that says 'this entitles the bearer to a nice lunch at mine/ at a nice restaurant/ day at a spa etc (whatever you can afford).

Or, get a jam jar and decorate it with foil/ glitter etc and inside it write little folded up messages for her that say 'i loved it when...' and a mamory of a time she helped you out/ made you smile/ did/ said something nice to/for you. Add a label to it calling it 'the little jar of love' with instructions for her to read a message whenever she misses you/ feels sad/ down/ lonely etc. It's been a winner for whoever I've done it for (was VERY skint for a VERY long time and had to make lots of presents).

Don't feel bad you haven't bought anything, the made ones are often the most memorable presents.

shootfromthehip · 20/03/2009 15:37

should be memory and not mamory

jumpingbeans · 20/03/2009 15:39

prettyfly1 · 20/03/2009 16:16
