Would this annoy you?

I let off steam on here a lot at the weekend as my DH works 6 days a week and often buggers off to sport on Sundays, leaving me with 2DC. He has sensed that I'm seriously pissed off, came home early from work today due to the weather, and said "why don't you go for a coffee and swim, darling?" Yes, lovely. I had cooked dinner, so he merely had to serve it up.

I came back to a bombsite of a kitchen, toys all over the lounge and the kids waiting to be bathed. DH went out for a run, then sat down to watch Eastenders while I cleared up.

All he had done while I was out was watched cricket DVDs with the kids, and played cricket in the lounge.

Would this annoy the hell out of you or am I being an ungrateful old cow?

It'd annoy me, but then I'd know better than to expect DP to insist that I go out alone, and then come back to a sparkling clean house

Wasn't expecting sparkling clean, but put stuff in the dishwasher?!! It just seemed to defeat the object of me going out for a chill, to come home and find he'd done bugger all except play!

It would annoy the hell out of me..and does lol!

I leave the hoover lying around sometimes in the vain hope someone will get the hint, and come back to find it still in the same place, or maybe moved a little bit because it was strategically placed where the twat could fall over it (am i hoping the hoovering would be done or to come back and find him where he's fell over the hoover and broke his neck

Only joking.. You are not an ungrateful old cow and with any luck some of the people who posted me lovely messages of support after i had my own rant will soon be here to back me up

Thank you. I just feel v pissed off with him all the time at the mo. His job/hobbies/needs always seem to take priority and I get 'given' the odd hour once a week. He's a lovely guy and great with the boys but drives me round the bend at times.

I have given up being subtle or sulking when my dp does things like this (and believe me he does!). I now just walk into the room and say "you alright there .... do you think you can get off your backside and come and clear up please" ... usually works! If not .. it gets left!

Hmm.. did something similar once and it worked lol

DP whined about ironing not being done.. stroppy preg hormones spoke for me "Well if ya don't like it, YOU do it"

Cue very quiet head held down ironing being done by DP now he just doesn't moan about it hehe

He did do a good job though
