A friend- not a very close friend- gave me a Xmas present and included the receipt- in case I want a refund etc. I thanked her for it and said I liked it- it's something you wear! - but on 2nd thoughts it's not "me." I want to take it back but am worried she might ask if I did, or wonder why she hasn't seen me wear it- what would you do? If I have to admit I took it back, what would you say? I feelextra guilty as I bought her smellies which she couldn't change anyway!

Just say something about the fit. You loved it but didn't quite seem to fit right and that you brought bla bla instead. I would not mention it unless brought up.

mollyroger · 30/01/2009 11:23

yeah, just say you wanted next size up or down but they didn't have it so...

PlumBumMum · 30/01/2009 11:23

Tell her the truth and say you loved it but when you put it on it didn't suit you,My mum bought me alovely top and I thought it was just me til I put it on, yuck
or lie
Is it a perfect fit, say your brought it back to change the size and they didn't have any so you had to sxchange for something else

It can't fit- it's a scarf!!!! I do like it, but have several in a similar colour, and I know it would get little wear.

doh!

Almeida · 30/01/2009 11:25

Keep it

PlumBumMum · 30/01/2009 11:25

oops

PlumBumMum · 30/01/2009 11:26

Yeap I think I would just keep it

chloesmumtoo · 30/01/2009 11:32

Thats funny! A scarf! If you have some simular then just say that if she asks. She probably prefer it that you changed it in that case and had something different

warthog · 30/01/2009 12:38

i'd keep it. wear it when you see her a couple of times, then after a couple of years quietly give it to oxfam...
