Not totally happy with relationship and not exactly sure why...

...how do I figure it out?

Have been with dp for a year and we do love each other, however, I am not 100% convinced that things are great and I need to work it out.

This is going to sound totally stupid, but what should questions should I be asking myself? This is only my 3rd serious relationship and I am not sure I know what "normal" is. Have just divorced my ex husband and my previous boyfriend was a complete selfish arse, so really not great examples of healthy relationships.

Any advice?

Did you start this relationship very soon after breaking uo from your DH/ That may be why you are feeling unsure. may not be that you are unsure about your DP as a person, just that you are unsure in general - about your own feelings, about relationships in general. Could that be it?

I was in a similar relationship. It was three years after I split with my ex, and the new man was lovely, great with my LO, kind, a good lover, intelligent, funny, had common interests etc. But it just didn't feel right. I kept thinking that it would become right, with time, but after six months, I finished it, as I just couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life with him. I still haven't figured out why I wasn't head over heels in love with him; maybe it was just a chemistry thing?

Now I'm in a relationship that just feels absolutely right. Sometimes, something can look great on paper, but lacks some indefiniable quality.
