Haven't honeymooned there but have been briefly 10 years ago as a gateway to a Yacutan holiday.

Ummmm.... I'm afraid I thought it was very tacky and Americanized,.... but the weather and beaches are great and if you are going to be mostly in your hotel room, then I'm sure the standard will be very high.

Don't know if you can fly straight through, we had to tranist in Houston

i work for thomas cook and literally EVERBODY i work with has been there, a few have married there and a few have honeymooned there, they all say that it is amazing and most have returned back there since. if you have any specific questions then id be happy to ask my colleagues for you.

oh right.... i hear lots of tales of how lovely it is and would love to go one day.
a colleage did a week at the moon palace and a week at its sister hotel the aventura spa palace and said that the moon was far better.

hopefully one day i will get there and we can reminice! ( spelling? doesnt look right!!)

Did you get to Merida? The old city about 3 hours inland, fantastic architecture but don't get me started on the undercover skunk smoking cop who nearly had an seizure in our hotel room ( we only met him a couple of hours before and we weren't smoking the weed, we were terrified, especially when he asked my what contraception I was using , he also told us he used to be the percussionist for the Grateful Dead)
