Do you play music?

Do you shag make love to music?

I read something a while ago about improving your sex life.

It suggested changing the music you make love to.

WTF? thought I. Change? We never play any music.

So I did try once putting on some romantic classical music but kept having to say: "hang on, I don't like this one" and change track. Spoilt the mood a bit.

The reason I ask is because I am moving a large CD player into our bedroom cupboard and it crossed my mind I ought to try and use it.

Any muscial recommendations?

I like Seal...but then we are 70's people... black soul and R+B... wine glasses just there... candles flickering..smelly oils and things...

hauntedcitylover · 13/11/2008 15:34

Yes def. I made some compilations of love songs to play when exbf came round!! Then gave them to him oon CD to play in his car LOL

He requested it but thought it rather nice idea.

Exh would have never wanted that. Had no real ear for music.

BalloonSlayer · 13/11/2008 15:41

Oh God, I'm as boring as I feared.

Like the sound of Il Divo . . . but DH won't though.

What do you do when your musical tastes don't match spectacularly well?

I suppose I could ask DH to compile a CD of romantic stuff. Dread to think what he'll come up with .

zippitippitoes · 13/11/2008 15:45

yes

luckily we like the same stuff

we have to because he has house mates and his room is next to the hall kitchen and sitting room and he has a very noisy bed apart from anything else

sometimes the selections run out tho so er it isnt perfect lol

zippitippitoes · 13/11/2008 15:46

i let him pick

sometimes it is just everything beginning with b or whatever

zippitippitoes · 13/11/2008 15:47

actualkly he picks at his house and i pick at mine usually..itunes on shuffle usually

WowOoo · 13/11/2008 15:49

Barry White.... for a laugh.

Ravel's Bolero good?!

Il Divo would seriously put me off. Have fun!

lou33 · 13/11/2008 15:50

i just turn the radio on and up loud

WowOoo · 13/11/2008 16:16

Led Zep here for fast and furious or long and slow.

What a fab idea. Anything beginning with B.

Beck?

Kally · 13/11/2008 16:41

Yes its a problem when music tastes are different... ex and I never agreed on music. can't imagine getting laid to Zorba The Greek... bla bling...bla bling... dingly ding.. bla bling, bla bling... noooo wouldn't work...

DaDaDa · 13/11/2008 17:47

I play viola and DW plays bassoon. It's kind of awkward in the missionary position but it breaks the ice.

BalloonSlayer · 13/11/2008 18:31

ROFL DaDaDa

Kally I quite like Zorba the Greek builds to a nice climax

Who mentioned Ravel's Bolero though? - couldn't hear that without thinking of Torvil and Dean. bleurgh

I used to work with someone who claimed he and his girlfriends all made love to

this

ByTheSea · 13/11/2008 18:49

We always play music.

Some faves are Pink Floyd for spacey, lingering, massaging sex. Stuff like Dido and Norah Jones is good for this as well.

Anything blues-y -- I love it and it makes me feel sexy.

GypsyMoth · 13/11/2008 19:50

meatloaf.....bat out of hell!!

BalloonSlayer · 13/11/2008 22:10

Mmmm like Meatloaf.

I must say, though, and am loath to offend, but if I were to compile a list of music I would be least likely to [successfully] have sex to, Pink Floyd would have to be at the top of that list. And they would have beaten such illustrious contenders as the Barron Knights, the Cheeky Girls and the Muppets.

This is probably mainly because ex liked them I suppose. But each to their own.

ByTheSea, everytime I read your post I read Dildo by mistake. I suspect it's not the first time this error has been made.

I like Nora Jones, but she can get a bit flakey...
Dido...mmm done it her...
Best sex I ever had was to Eric Clapton's 'Old Love'... left on repeat over and over...
everytime I hear that now I just remember us falling off the bed and getting a flicked away peice of chewing gum stuck to my arse cheek (which he picked off and ate smiling)... ahhhhh where are you, where are you....

Kally · 14/11/2008 10:09

Ravels Bolero was first used as lurve music in the movie with Dudley Moore and that Godess... what's her name.... oooooo.... 'Bo Derek'? Remember that???? AH! movie called '10'.. (he kept getting her braide feathers in his mouth) and she pulled his hair and hurt him etc... funny funny..

SexyDomesticatedDad · 14/11/2008 10:48

BIL gave us a stack of old LPs (you know those black discs that spin round and you put a thing with a needle on an arm to pick up the sound) - it had Jennifer Rush in there - the Power of Love - was VERY worn out - think it was a favourite at time but he had just dumped his gf when he got rid of all Lps.

ToughDaddy · 14/11/2008 23:13

At uni I spent a few nights with a female college DJ who had to tee up the right track before jumping in the sac....but not since

Will try some Prince and some Earth Wind and Fire.

Acinonyx · 15/11/2008 11:29

Haven't done it to music in years - must think about that.

I remember the very first time ever was to Abba

Don't think dh would go for that....
