hi my ex has got himself in a big mess.. he has to file for bankruptcy hasnt done yet but has just left the country and everything here.. my question is does anyone know if he can sell me one of his houses cheap or will the bank make it go to aution when they find out hes gone...

I think they'd investigate to look for ways in which he might have squirrelled assets away, especially if he has done a bunk.

Don't know about personal bankruptcy but when companies go under there are rules that can invalidate sales of assets done around the time of going under (and some time before). If similar rules apply to personal bankruptcy (as I'd expect), then even if he did try to sell you the house it might not be a valid sale & you'd not get to keep it.
