Husband has a filthy temper

My DH has always had a bad temper but nothing I coouldn't live with and in fact he used to be one of hte nicest men I knew, but his temper and moods have got worse and worse and he constantly upsets all of us. Just this morning his snapping and shouting made me lose my temper and 2 out of 3 children cry. We can't afford anger management and I don't know what to do. I have spoken to him, emailed him, texted him but nothing ever changes. I love him but it is getting harder and harder and none of us deserve to live in this atmosphere. What can I do?

What does he get in a mood about? Is he unhappy at work, worried about money or something else? If this is a dramatic change in character, it must have been precipitated by something. Is he depressed? This can often show itself as anger?

He is unhappy about money, we have some serious financial problems, tired and I believe depressed. But I have tried to be supportive and I am also going through this and get very frustrated and upset by his moods. We need to pull together not apart.
