starting a new rl straight after an abusive one

i am planning to leave my abusive dh,there is someone that i care about alot(maybe even love him).has anyone had rl very soon after an abusive one,did it work out?

It can work out, but have you examined the causes of why you were attracted to your DH in the first place and how the dynamics of your relationship work? I would recommend this book it has a chapter in it about what to look for in a new relationship if you ahve been in an abusive relationship before. Warning signs, good signs etc. I got it from the library quite by chance as I was browsing and it has been incredibly useful.
