why do woman talk more than men?

its a known fact that we women natter and chatter, talk,gossip and communicate much more than men (i know there are some men on mums net ...) We are more verbally cunning, manipulative and expressive than they are. But doesnt it get so annoying when your dp/dh has nothing to say about the most amusing thing you have just said. My dp must be the worst. Maybe we just dont click. He isnt my soul mate, so thats prob why i am having this rant ! !

Mine is useless at chit chat - and worse we are both home all day and it is difficult for me to have friends around to chat. I get ill if I can't talk enough.

Im not very good at idle chit chat never have been. But I do at least remember to tell dp important things which he never does me. And Im def better at arguments

Does he insist that you acknowledge him evertime he utters tho secur ? cos dp will repeat himself ad infinitum until hes heard my reply and dss is the same. Not till Ive replied mind but till theyve heard it. Ive threatened them both with hearing tests before now

Well colditz, he is a bigamist too. your dp/dh is probably a serious old fart like my dp. he can get very heated and heavy bout things. i can be more of a synic. yes, i get 'but i never heard you', line and the ignored. IT DRIVES ME MAD.

Myermay I agree, my DP is so forgetful, but ask him what the score was for the FA cup final in 1987 for example and he'll readily give you the answer plus the names of the goal scorers!

No mine is not a serious old fart, in fact unless it involves a computer or a playstation, his face becomes blank when I try to talk to him, and a typical response goes "Yeah....yeah.....yeah.....what?"

For all his high intelligence it takes him at least 20 seconds to answer me. and when i dont even get an answer he says 'I was thinking". OMG ! Mind you the mums at my ds nursery school/prep school gossip like crazy. they run the school not the teachers !

My DH is very good at pretending to listen. When he says he'l do something, then of course doesn't do it and I want to know why? He really has no idea what I'm talking about. He even says it's not his fault because he wasn't listening and I should know not to hold him accountable for things wasn't listening to. Right? If you don't read the contract but you sign it, you still signed it!

When DS was a tiny tot, I went shopping with my sister, she took me to this achingly beautiful but expensive kiddies clothes shop. They had a fab little jumper with little lines of fur sown in across the front. Looked fab, just typed this and it sounds rubbish. Anyway sense prevailed as the jumper was £65 and he was only 6 months old, I could viualise all the solids that didn't hit the target on it

So later I meet up with DH and DS and we are walking and talking, I suddenly realise that all I am getting in return is mmmm MMMM mmm oh right mmmmmmmm MMMMMMMMM mmmm etc., etc.,

So I started telling him about the jumper mmmmm MM

It was so cute it had dried dog shit all around the collar in different colours MMMMMMMM mmmm

And then, after about 10 minutes of silence he says what did you say !!!!!!!!!!!!

My sister and I almost needed oxygen we were laughing so hard
