does your dp/dh wash, shower, or bath every day like you or not. Wish he would, it really annoys me. I like the bed to smell clean.

and you called me a perve

HA!
Actually I must go and have a shower now, it's been a scorcher today and it does appear to be the custom to bathe regularly here and I must try and fit in

new to mumsnet so just read this, my hubby must be the worst - he has a dirty job (panel beater) but still only bathes once a week if i'm lucky. can't remember the last time he cleaned his teeth. surprisingly he doesn't smell. I don't do oral & never have & he only gets sex if he washes 1st - surprisingly this is not even an incentive to bathe more! his mum is the same tho so think it is how he was brought up. every now & then he spends a fortune at the dentist & then cleans his teeth for a while before going back to his old habits. reading this back i can't believe i put up with it!!

oh my goodness, just read through this and you know i have to say not only do i not know how you ladies put up with it, I am really quite grateful to be single!!!!!!!! Only messing but really would it be tough for them to have a bath before joining their hard working wives and girlfriends of a night time.

same. we both shower every morning and occassionally have an evening bath to relax.

Jacksmummie · 28/02/2005 17:28

My dp washes far less than i. I like to get a bath or shower everyday, dp will go several days without. This is by far his most annoying habbit. I can not understand this as i would be paronoid of bad odours. I Sometimes have to drop hints but how do you tell someone in a nice way that they smell? What usually works is running the bath and inviting him in half way through.

Hulababy · 28/02/2005 17:29

We both shower daily. It is jsust part of our morning routines - up, shower, dress, breakfast.

Gwenick · 28/02/2005 17:31

In the winter I shower everyother days - as does DH, but we both 'wash' on the 'off days'.

In summer we both shower everyday.

TheVillageIdiot · 28/02/2005 17:40

I have to say dp is cleaner than I. Although I shower daily and so does he. If we've been out for a drink (or even if I'm in on my own) I will happily go to bed without cleaning my teeth, he on the otherhand would never dream of getting into bed without cleaning them, even if terribly drunk. he also flosses which I never do. He has even 'reminded' me to clean my teeth.

I have queried whether or not I have some sort of bad breath problem but he says no and I know he would tell me and all the regulars of our local if I did.

He has before now commented that even though I only shower in the morning I never smell . He's a charmer, isn't he(?) I chose to take it as a compliment.

so glad i am not the only person living with a minger!!!! DH seems to be allergic to water and sometimes even pretands he has had a shower to appease me. Can't bear this part of his personality and also hate the fact he comes unwashed to freshly laundered bed.

SeaShells · 28/02/2005 17:50

Me and DP are equally clean....we share our baths

zebra · 28/02/2005 18:12

Quite a lot more often, really.
