I saw this on another thread in this area and I don't get it. What are these things? I need to be informed

a troll is someone who posts to cause offence / a stir

what context was 'thud' used in?

Twiglett · 01/02/2005 10:28

that should be 'or stir up trouble'

colditzmum · 01/02/2005 10:29

I think thud is something to do with lav1 but I'm not sure...

NotQuiteCockney · 01/02/2005 10:29

Aha .. think that was a glorious JanH invention

yes it was either 'head hitting table in disbelief that here we go again' or it was 'I'm going to hit myself with a large mallet so I don't have to get on this merry-go-round again'

NotQuiteCockney · 01/02/2005 10:32

DaddyCool, look at some other threads from lavender, and you'll understand. This one is "good".

Demented · 01/02/2005 10:32

I understood to mean passing out with exasperation, as in many of Lav's threads or when someone says something so predicable you have no other option.

NotQuiteCockney · 01/02/2005 10:33

Ah, thanks for explanation Twiglett. I'd understood what it was about, more or less, but not what it meant. Very applicable.

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 01/02/2005 10:33

or this one

DaddyCool · 01/02/2005 10:33

thanks!

It is pretty amazing that a reaction to one particular poster has introduced a new internet word into our language isn't it?
