He's cheating isn't he?

Partner of 4 years cheated 2 years ago. I caught him sexting her. He had cheated in his previous partner with same woman. Woman is related to his ex partner. When I caught him 2 years ago he had picked up a distinctive laugh. Anyway a few weeks ago he took his old phone out of storage and it's been on his desk for weeks. He hasn't used his smart watch in about a year but has suddenly decided he wants to wear it again. I caught him 2 years ago via the watch. At weekend he did the same laugh. I said absolutely nothing. Later that day he brought it up saying oh, you know that laugh you hate. I noticed my daughter does it. He said that 2 years ago but cited a different daughter. Obviously he swears there's nothing going on. Weekend was a blow up and now he's booked a trip away and is being extra lovely.

It sounds highly likely that he is, based on what you’ve observed both now, and previously. He’s gotten away with it once so he’ll keep doing it. You’ll never fully trust him and will always wonder if he’s playing away. I wouldn’t be able to live like that.

EverybodyLTB · 21/10/2026 15:32

He sounds vile. He had an affair with his wife’s sister? What a scumbag, that’s despicable levels of betrayal that even most cheaters wouldn’t sink to. Plus he’s cheated on you already? You don’t love him, you’re feeling something, but it’s not love. I don’t believe it’s possible to love someone this foul who cheats and lies and disrespects you for having the audacity to question him. LTB

Userengage · 21/10/2026 15:46

What’s the query? He cheated before you, he cheated on you and he’s doing again. How desperate are you?

He must have a dick made of gold.

Lurkingandlearning · 21/10/2026 15:53

He swore on his kids lives.

I haven’t heard many full grown adults swear on someone’s life but every one that did was lying.

It’s just pathetic bluster

Yeah. I agree. I'll be off and when he tries to beg me back I'll come back here and remind myself of the hateful shit he's done to me

Yeah we live together. Have done for 3 years. If you saw us together you may raise an eyebrow. People comment often how we look odd. He's older and punching above his weight. I love him deeply and he knows it

Forget about loving him, you need to love yourself more and find someone who deserves you as he clearly doesn’t. A man who had cheated with his wife’s sister, his children’s aunt, would be a big red flag for me. He has no boundaries and no morals, it’s never going to end well with someone like that.

DaisyChain505 · 21/10/2026 16:12

This man has no morals. He didn’t cheat the first time and then realise he’d been an awful human being and vowed to never do it again, he went right back and did it again knowing just how much hurt and pain it causes to other people involved.

You’re never going to trust this man again. Love yourself more than you love him and ditch him.

Purplecatshopaholic · 21/10/2026 16:14

Yes he’s cheating. Ugh, man’s a lying POS. Get rid op.

LoveItaly · 21/10/2026 16:41

Stay and put up with being cheated on from time to time, or leave and be unhappy for a while, but also keeping your self esteem intact. Those are your two choices, he’s a cheater and not going to change.

Bouncywaves · 21/10/2026 16:51

Why do you want some old ugly man with an odd laugh who cheats on you? I mean this is a man who cheated with his partner's sister. I mean how gross do you have to be to do this - there are billions of people in the world and he has to cheat with her sister? Cheaters very rarely reform. I have known a few leopards who changed their spots because this time they didn't want to mess it up and they knew they wouldn't get a second chance (and even they hadn't had it off with their partner's relatives).

Notahappybunny22 · 21/10/2026 21:09

Well he got nasty and aggressive. Snatched my engagement ring off and told me to fuck off. He's a charmer

You’ve dodged one if he’s left.
A man who sleeps with the sister of his child’s mother is the lowest form of cheating scum. He was prepared to ruin the sisters’ relationship forever and in a very painful way for his partner, and to hurt his own child by cheating with their auntie and ruining that relationship.

Please have some therapy to work out why you don’t think you deserve better. I would rather be single forever than be with a man like that. Consider getting tested. Do not get pregnant to him.

Trottersup · 21/10/2026 21:56

He had an affair with his wife's sister, you knew and moved in with him. Then he cheated on you with the same woman and you stayed with him. What possessed you? He's scum. And if you forgive him again you'll be stuck with being his carer when he's old. Fuck that.

Notahappybunny22 · 21/10/2026 21:58

So I went to the pub. Talked with the landlady and her sister. They're pals. He came in. Snatched ring off my finger arre threatened me. I need to be out by morning. He hates me etc. I'm sat in the sofa in my coat

If I've understood correctly, the OW has a distinctive laugh and he's subconsciously copying it due to hearing it so frequently.

My friend took on her husband's laugh. It was an annoying laugh.

Ring round your friends and family and find somewhere to stay for a week or so while you sort yourself out. Contact your local council homeless section asap. Tell them you’ve been thrown out and are homeless. I am sure there will be other people along shortly who have some more detailed advice for you. Never put yourself in this position again where a man can throw you on the street at any moment.

Leave him. He doesn’t deserve your love and loyalty. You could never trust someone who cheats with their wife’s sister. Low standards, get shot of him for good.

Stay safe tonight. And what good instincts you have.

He has told me to leave tonight. Snatched away my engagement ring from my finger. Let's wait and see. I put on a much more expensive one from my past and said my son in laws will. Move me on their time zone. Shit bag 😂

TBF though. He's tried to be abusive and threatening. I'm still in my coat. But I did back myself.
