My husband went back with his ex that I’m worried about shortly after we broke up during our teen years and it has haunted me ever since. Am I overreacting?

Back when me and my husband was 16 years old, we broke up, it was a painful breakup for the both of us but we came back together and he didn’t tell me what happened right away, I only knew abt it when we were 19. When we broke up, he went straight to his ex and also some other casual flings when I was beating myself up and crying all day. Fast forward to now, our marriage is great and we have 2 beautiful kids. There’s no argument about my husband cheating or anything of some sort, he is a good husband and a father to my kids, but sometimes it still bothers me. What should I do?

I thought exactly the same thing.

You were broken up. He was single. He had no commitment to you. This is about you not about him. I think you need therapy to find out why you are si hurt by it. Did you dump him? Im wondering if you are angry with yourself. Are you upset he has had more experiences than you? What exactly is bothering you? Realistically, you were just kids and he didn't do anything wrong. It would be terrible to sabotage your current relationship over something that happened at 16.

Yea maybe I really need a therapy. I really don’t and didn’t have friend as well to talk about this. I made him my world and maybe it is my fault that I psychoanalyses things from the past.

No you don't, you just need give yourself a shake and find something useful to do rather than sitting brooding about something that happened years ago.

How old are you now?

i do think some professional support might help as it’s not normal to be remotely bothered about this.
