I went to my friend's for dinner last night. She often says things without thinking and can say hurtful things or likes to tell my DD off! We had some wine and then we left and came home. At about 11pm she phoned me, totally drunk and was talking rubbish and then said something about my body (i workout alot and OH has said my arms are getting bigger.)I told my friend this and at first she said oh don't be silly but in her drunken stuper last night she said they are. I was quite upset and thought about it all night. I don't think I would have minded if she told me when she was sober.

Well, at least she didn't say your bum was gettig bigger.

I wouldn't worry about it. She was drunk and could have said something a lot more upsetting.

Wuxiapian · 07/06/2008 10:15

What was it that upset you?

Did she mean bigger - muscely or bigger-fatter?

TheProvincialLady · 07/06/2008 10:18

I would ring her now, whilst the hangover is still in effect, and tell her that she DOES NOT ring you at 11pm to drunkenly abuse you. And that she has wobbly thighs.

Call her and tell her you're worried about her drinking as it seems to be getting out of hand. Make sure you have AA's number ready

AttilaTheMeerkat · 07/06/2008 10:23

Why are you friends with someone like this anyway?.

strawberriesandcream01 · 07/06/2008 10:38

good question! It always has been a love hate relationship. She does drink far to much, eg last night there were 3 bottle in her fridge, I must have had 4- 5 glasses and she finished the rest! She will then get up and drive somewhere this morning which worries me aswell and alot of the time I can smell drink on her.

Bigger, muscely, they are not fat. I think I know they are abit bigger and I am trying now to stop the weights and get my arms thinner. I am upset because of the way she just said it like that and because she was drunk

Haven't spoken to her this morning and don't really want to.

I have always had muscular arms. A friend of mine once told me (sober) that my arms were the reason she didn't work out. Nice! There's nowt I can do about them, it's just the way I'm built, but then I've also been told that they're very shapely. It's whether you like them that's important, but remember some people will think they're fab, so don't just believe the negative!

(Btw, unless you're taking steroids it's unlikely they'll get huge, so don't worry about cutting down on the weights too much)

Are you sure she isn't jealous of your body? You must be very tones. She on the other hand is a drunken hag.

toned not tones
