Hi

I don't get along very well with my in laws & DH's Granny is a yr dead in a few weeks. DH is not going to the mass it is on in the evening & it is 50 mins away from where we live. He doesn't get on so well with mil either!!

So what would you do about it?? I won't be going to the mass as I haven't the guts to go down there on my own without DH, but I would like to acknowledge it as I did like his Granny & I also like her husband who is still alive.

Any Ideas??

"I did like his Granny & I also like her husband who is still alive."

i think you and your dh should both go for those reasons. get there a tiny bit late and leave promptly having greeted the husband and you won't need to get involved with the rest of the family. i think it would mean a lot to her husband.

If you can't persuade DH to go - send her husband a card to let him know that you're thinking of him and missing Granny.

Thanks for the replys girls,

Thank you JessJess3908, I have been thinking about it today & that is what I am going to do - I will send her husband a card. DH is definitely not going but I would like to acknowledge it for her husband!

How about sending a mass card from your local priest? It would let her husband know that you're thinking of him and Granny and also means you could get to that mass with less hassle (if you wanted).
