Am I so out of touch?

My Gen Z daughter and I were discussing her sister's potential new home this weekend. I happened to mention that I'd driven by to have a look and see what it was like and that the owner (similar age to me) was on the drive so we said hello, had a brief chat and off I went. To me this is quite normal to be friendly to others but she said that I'm too open and friendly and their generation isn't the same. She was quite hurtful in what she said and I feel like I must be an embarrassment and totally out of touch with how her generation think. Am I really awful for having done this?

I’m with the “it’s unnecessary and embarrassing crowd…sorry” and I’m 40 for perspective. This sounds like exactly something my ex’s parents would’ve done and they would have taken great liberty and joy in telling me everything they knew about the previous owner is what they did for a living and what their children are dead and where they went to school. I don’t really give a shit about the previous owners sorry to be blunt. 🤣🤣

Im the same age as your daughter and i chat to everyone. So don’t most of my friends of similar ages. Always have! Might just be a your daughter thing not a generational thing.
