OP as, an older mumsnetter l can assure you that where dating is concerned poor comms has nothing to do with age. He will probably get back in touch with a lame excuse but don't hold your breath.

Sorry to hear you were ghosted. That is vile but also a lucky escape if you consider the type of person this behaviour indicates they are e.g. flakey, immature, avoidant, bad communicator, discourteous, time-waster etc

Tell yourself "so what, their loss" as that is true and try again. Their behaviour is about them, not a reflection on you x

I know from others’ experience that male septuagenarians are also capable of ghosting.

You would think that there would be more courtesy in the mature generation but sadly I’ve come to know there is not.

I agree that 'ghosting' is nothing new, it used to called 'he isn't returning my calls' but I don't understand why people have to be blocked quite so quickly?

I don't find it funny when a lot of society think older people are a waste of space and would be better off dead anyway.
