My birthday is on Tuesday and he hasn't mentioned any plans

Do I have a right to be annoyed or are my expectations too high?
We have been together for just over 6 months and I have already set aside a date for his birthday plans with him that falls the week after mine. He definitely knows when it is.
So far he hasn't asked me to save any date for mine. I already have plans next Friday for my friends birthday night out so this is off the table and I guess I just feel a bit put out that my friends and family are asking to see me on various days next week to celebrate but he's said nothing.
If I were to accept or make plans with every friend or family member that has asked to see me around my birthday I would already be totally booked up all week and he wouldn't see me.

I've been holding off on the hope that he might mention something but now I just feel like should I just go ahead and make all these other plans?
Or do I say to him....erm it's my birthday next week, are we gonna do anything?

Thanks everyone. He spoke to me about my birthday a day after this post asking what I would like to do. I told him it would be nice to go for dinner together at the weekend and gave him a few options for restaurants I would like to go this Saturday. He came back sheepishly 10 mins later saying that everywhere i had suggested was fully booked, which did inevitably lead on to the conversation of me feeling like a bit of an afterthought.
He did say he realises he has left it all a bit late and apologised, meaning we won't be doing much on my birthday weekend together. I am however out with friends on Friday so that should be fun.
He ended up booking the restaurant I wanted to go to (albeit in 3 weeks time on the first weekend it had availability) and he is taking me out tonight for a more low key dinner in the local italian too xx

Thank you for the birthday wishes too! My birthday got totally forgotten about at work today (despite it being in my bosses diary) as being a PA I am always the person who organises cards and gifts for everyone else so mine always gets bloody missed (woe is me) so it's nice to read some on here x
