Can I be annoyed?

I knew he was going out but no contact since 10. Up every 1.5/2 hours with baby still and fed up as obviously won't have any help tomorrow morning either now

So while posters are arguing on here, poster didn’t return so he probably returned home and everyone went to sleep…. the end.

Re the parents suggestion, when my H went out and got completely and utterly obliterated on alcohol when I had a three-week-old baby (I had had a csection too), I wound up having to drive to collect him from where he was (taxis couldn’t go there), with my tiny baby in the back, put him in the car (he went to lift the baby out of the car) and then I dumped him on his parents’ drive. I had phoned them, said I couldn’t deal with him, a section and a newborn, so he’d have to go there. They were so ashamed. But they gave him an absolute bollocking. For so reason his dad dropped him back at 5:30 the next morning, waking both me and the baby. He was of no use to anyone and spent the day vomiting loudly.

Oh the irony. Your comment was vile

DancingNotDrowning · 16/11/2024 08:54

Call his parents? Grin

this place is insane at times!

assuming this is a one off then it’s a bit off to be annoyed. You were going to be up with the baby anyway if he was sleeping off a few drinks.

just don’t let him mope tomorrow- he can have a short lie in and then he pulls himself together and takes both kids out to the park

They probably dropped him back because they were thinking WTAF at you dropping your husband at theirs Grin

Invite your mother, or his mother or father, over.
Settle them into DH bed or have them arrive for breakfast to give you moral support and assistance with the children.

Do this every time the father of your children goes out and is not back hours after you expect.

If he still doesn't realise his importance in your family and after genuine discussion about fairness, then, whenever he is going out, ask him to go pick up his mother before he leaves.

If no sincere change is made consider all your options.

Why do you assume that either set of parents would have nothing else to do and would be willing to participate in this passive-aggressive nonsense?

I'd be very inclined to phone his parents and ask them to have a word.

I'd certainly reach out to your own family for support.

He's a first class arsehole.

WTF 😂

chocolateanddietcoke · 16/11/2024 09:37

Hi all: sorry for delayed response. He got back at 3.30am. I knew he was going out for a colleagues birthday but didn't think he'd be so late! To his credit he was up with the toddler for his wake up.

I'd forgive home once he got up with one of the kids might bang a few things and be loud to help his sore head though 😂😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/11/2024 09:55

So he went out for drinks and home 3am

Not the end of the world surely allowed to go out with friends once in a blue moon ?

The timeline of 10am or pm was confusing. If 10am yes a text would have been nice / if been out all day /evening /night

If 10pm He's out with friends for a few hours and wouidnt expect a text

He's now home and helping with baby

Phone his parents?? What a ridiculous suggestion.

What are they going to do? Take his phone away and give him a list of chores to do? lol

What was agreed before he went out? What time did he say he would be home?

I 100% understand why you are annoyed, but as a one off I would let it go.

This.

I’m sorry but I don’t get the uproar, newborn or not. It’s only 2am. It’s only been 4 hours since she heard from him. Calm down 😂

Shiningout · 16/11/2024 10:00

Theres a couple of similar threads this morning and I was going to ask if it was to do with the boxing on the TV at 4am, but seen he came back at 2 anyway

chocolateanddietcoke · 16/11/2024 10:09

I think probably just frustration on my end as with 2 under 2 and BF I never really got any opportunity to go out for the last 3 years late. My eldest is just 2 and was a notoriously bad sleeper who wouldn't game a bottle and my youngest I'm persevering with a bottle but he won't sleep in a next to me etc so I have to co sleep which means I can't go out drinking!

He's been out since he went to work so it was just a long stint without any adult conversation either 😂

DH now gone for a nap whilst me and the boys have a lazy morning before heading to local farm for a day out.

Sounds like OPs husband has been fine. Alls well that ends well. Hope he enjoys his day at the farm with a hangover !

Artistbythewater · 16/11/2024 11:31

That’s a cheering thought facing a farm visit with the haangover from hell!
