Hello all

Can you share tips on finding the right partner or a decent man ? What to look for and what you would see as immediate red flag ? The pool of men in their 30s or early 40s seems shocking. Or is it me ?

Trying OLD, not got much chance to meet anyone the old school way due to very limited time.

Can you share your success stories of when you thought you weren't going to meet the right partner and they came along ?

Fed up woman 🙈

I met my current partner on hinge. Took a few wrong dates and chats to get to where I am now. He said the same about us women.

The issue is 30/40s all men are going to come with some baggage.

I would say the big red flags for me were men who bad mouthed exes (esp mothers of their kids), ones who didn't admit to having kids or used the I don't see them line. Also ones that refused to arrange a date quickly or insisted on drinks etc.

I also discovered I didn't want a penpal so arranged dates quickly to see if there was anything in person rather than just good chat. Made that mistake once and discovered there was nothing in person despite a good chat through messages. Kept it to simple coffee dates, my current partner we went for an early morning coffee, that turned into a walk and grabbing lunch and spending the day together.

I also strayed away from my normal 'type' looks wise. At this age I want someone I can talk to about everything and anything not someone that looks good on my arm. So I delved into the profiles, only swiping on ones that had good content.

We were open and honest about what we wanted from the start and have remained that way. With busy lives we keep the relationship going with long calls on the phone, regular messages and dates when we can. It's nothing like dating when your young as responsibilities get in the way so keep that in mind. Initially it may only be a date a week or even less.
