In the dating world. Is their cultural differences that you have noticed that impact on dating? Do you have a preference? Or does it not matter.

If you are the north could you imagine yourself with a southerner and vice versa? I'm not saying what I am, but I couldn't imagine myself with the other. Just curious about this after a comment at work today.

I'm from the south, my partner from the north. The only real divide in our relationship it causes is the argument about what the evening meal is called, soon to be entering its seventh year and neither of us is backing down.

I'm the sort of northern English that has a lot of Irish thrown in too, but then that's the north west of England for you. There's no cultural equivalent in the Home Counties!

I take it you've never been to London then?

You consider London to be one of the home counties?

Personally I don’t like strong accents. It’s not where they are from.

But your accent probably seems quite strong to someone from a different location to you?

Having lived in rural N.Ire for 12 years in the past with an Irishman and then a long term relationship with a Scot I can kind of agree with the more aligned with those rather than with southerners, it is the case with me anyway and to them too. (North Yorks born and living back here now) Regardless of whether we agree there is a divide I'd have to say there is be that it's daft or outdated.
I can always remember when younger being abroad on holidays and the piss taking from southern lads was seriously ott yet the northern lads never batted an eyelid abouts where any lassies were from. Usual whippet, flat cap, dole comments...
Down south men since then do nothing for me as I'm sure some prefer the reverse and that's absolutely okay, I can't explain why I think that way it's just personal preference I guess.
