Eye contact during sex

allytjd · 17/04/2008 16:40

Beginning to think that DH and I are a bit inhibited because we do not look into each others eyes when having sex, not shy about anything else just direct eye contact. Usually close eyes or look over each others shoulders.

Sex life not bad but would like a bit more passion sometimes, eye contact just seems a bit too intimate IYSWIM, maybe tis because we are scottish.

What doe everyone else do?

lol and maybe it is because we are scottish.

How about spooning but the other way around if that makes sense, that way you are at eye level, well depending on your height.

walkinlikeacowboy · 17/04/2008 16:43

"tis because we are scottish" - from a fellow scot!

Husband and I have eye contact but not very much. Not sure if it's because I'm uncomfortable with it or because I'm scared I'll laugh and the faces DH pulls

MrsMattie · 17/04/2008 16:43

LMAO@Scots thing. Bless you. Experiment with some positions where you sort of have to look at each other eg. you on top?

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:43

I think it is sad not to look in each others eyes although sometimes I can't as dp does pull some funny faces.

Also try sex by candlelight, flattering on the figure and you may find it easier to look at each other

walkinlikeacowboy · 17/04/2008 16:44

that was meant to be "at the faces DS pulls" not "and the faces DH pulls"

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:45

walkinlikeacowboy we were watching the kenneth williams drama last night and dp was laughing at the faces he pulls, he was most hurt when I said to him that is your sex face

beaniesteve · 17/04/2008 16:45

I do, but I am incredibly inhibited. I can't initiate anything and if we talk about what I want, even though I know what I want I can't actually say it out loud. I'm 38 so I think it's a bit shocking to be such a prude.

oiFoiF · 17/04/2008 16:46

i thought everyone else pulled their nightie up and left the lights off like me

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:47

I have prude moments but when I get very excited I blurt out exactly what I want very quick and loud!

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:47

We tried to do it in the dark the other night and it really freaked me out.

walkinlikeacowboy · 17/04/2008 16:49

Did actually burst out laughing one time during a most energetic session when i looked up to see DH pulling the most ridiculous face - he didn's see the funny side at all and still believes that he doesn't pull any funny faces . Mind you he thinks he's a love god so just goes to show that you can delude yourself

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:51

Dp is very funny if he is in a position that requires him to sit up he strokes his body and throws his head back, exactly the same as Kenneth Williams in the hoovering scene.

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:52

sorry allytjd we have taken over your thread with our sex face stories.

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:53

allytjd how about doing it with you on his lap, so you are both sat up and again approximately at eye level?

walkinlikeacowboy · 17/04/2008 16:55

Yeah, sorry allytjd!

How about maybe trying something like blind-folding him and looking at his face then after a few tries at this look into his eyes without the blind-fold! Sorry thats pretty crap advice when its the looking into the eyes that's the intimacy bit!!

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:57

shit dp is home in a moment and I can't shift the hoovering image from my head. I may get in the bath so I don;t need to look at him.
