Post Natal Sex.....help!

Hey ladies, I need some advice please. Just had sex for the first time since giving birth 7 weeks ago and it bloody hurt! So much that I asked my partner to stop.
It's not from an episiotomy because although I fully dilated and pushed for 2 hours I had a c-section at the last minute. The lining of my vagina feels a bit raw and I bled a little bit. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what the problem is?? I'm really disappointed 'cos I was really looking forward to having sex again.
Any advice would be great. Thanks...
Jorior xx

If you are breastfeeding you may find yourself a little dry down below due to the hormones so lubrication would help. I had a vaginal delivery both times but BF and noticed that my vagina was very 'delicate' and a bit dry even though I was eager for sex my body needed a bit of help

I have had this too, every time (3 c-sections). My GP, giving me a smear test after my first and seeing my pain at even this, said it must be due to delivery trauma but when I said I had had a caesarean he looked at me in bewilderment!

I think it must be the hormones. I think it feels as if about 50 layers of skin have been removed inside!

It does get better over time is all I can say. Keep practising...

I had a c-section 7 months ago and am still finding sex quite uncomfortable. I'm still BF so presume this is why, def bit dry down below but a bit of KY jelly and a glass of wine helps!

I also found the first few times quite sore and I had a small amount of bleeding as well. Firstly it does all get better and go back to normal I promise. I has baby 6 mths ago and I'm now fine.

Take your time, plenty of lub and don't rush. I found it all abit scary to be honest and did wonder if it was just me. It isn't and it wil get better

So glad I have seen this thread, had DD 4 weeks ago and have had sex a few times but have experienced the same discomfort you describe, thank the lord it's normal!

the only thing i can suggest to you is take it slow, relax and have lube handy....the anxiety if sex after birth will be making you super tense, maybe have a nice meal together and a couple of wines.
