a couple of weeks ago went to PIL with dh and dd (21 months) to tell them i was pg. after MIL realised we weren't joking she congratulated us. FIL never said a word and still hasn't. felt quite upset about this as he was over the moon when we told him i was pg with dd.

the other thing was that he got his camera out and said come on then lets have an up-to-date photo of you with your dad. dh said how about an up-to-date one of you with your mum (dh knows he never takes them of me) to which FIL replied there's not much battery left i'll only be able to take one more photo and promptly took one, looked at his camera and said thats it the battery has gone. a few minutes later dd goes into their kitchen followed by MIL. a little while later MIL comes out of the kitchen carrying dd galloping like a horse, FIL gets his mobile phone out and starts taking pictures.

FIL has one photo of me with dd with my back to the camera (didn't know it was being taken). he seems to have them of everyone else with her. is he trying to tell me something do you think or am i being oversensitive. this only seems to have happened since dd was born.

Sound slike you could be being over-sensitive. Does he do other things that make you feel left out?

I think it is much easier to take pics of kids than adults so he probably just doesnt feel that comfy taking pics of you

i was never that comfy with my fil - its quite a strange relationship really - i mean, most women in 20s/30s dont have a great deal in common with a man in his 50/60s - i would just not worry about it
