ds1 is almost 6 and when he gets a cold his ears must get blocked because he cant hear very well.
yesterday mil came round they were playing for a bit with ds2 then i heard her say "well not everyone is deaf like you".
i dont like the woman as it is so am i just being petty getting worked up over this??

How rude! I would very firmly tell her that she should not make such comments.

Or say 'and not everyone is stupid like you!'

Nasty granny, next time tell her to get on her broomstick and leave.

On a more serios note though, I don't think it's petty. I used to suffer with glue ear as a child and have similar problems when I had colds ,I remember once everything was just muffled sounds for about a week. Travelling on airplanes was a bit of a nightmare too. It can be very unpleasant for a child and is something I would have thought a grandparent would comfort their grandchild for. Did she say it in a little bit of jest kind of way or did it sound like she was irritated by it?
