How wonderful a good friend can be.

The two older Bubble boys and I spent last night with my best friend and her DCs.

We arrived at lunchtime and she made lunch for us all, plied me with gin and tonics and ran a huge bubble bath with huge (warm) fluffy towels provided. She made dinner for the DCs and then made a wonderful dinner for us later on.

This morning she left me to sleep until 9am while she entertained the DCs.

I love her.

I was tempted to move in and send her DP packing when he came home from work last night.

God what a great pal! I'm jealous!

She also made me laugh until I was in pain.

I think it gets harder to maintain friendships once grown-up life and children come along. I am so pleased that we have managed to stay such friends.

I was her (completely unplanned) birth partner when her DD was born. She was my neighbour for a while and I'd only met her a couple of times but we'd 'clicked.'

I knew she was due any day and had gone to ask if she wanted me to take her DS out for the afternoon with my DS. She barely made it to answer the door and I found her in advanced labour on her own with her DS. Mr Bubble and I took her to hospital and I stayed with her whilst trying to get hold of her DP.

I was with her while her lovely DD was born and we've stayed in touch ever since, even though she's now moved away from London.

Sounds like a true friend... treasure her.
