I've got to tell someone and best mate is tied up this weekend.

Ex had an affair, I kicked him out just over a year ago, he went straight to live with OW. Fucked me up for a long time. Life is pretty good now.

Had a drunken message 11.30pm last night about something inane. Ignored it.

Had a message tonight sounding like he was crying asking me to call.

Thought about it, called.

Drunken, Oh he still loves me soooo much, it's really hard for him, am I seeing anyone, am I okay, he thinks about me all the time, he'd love to come back even though he knows I'd say no, but he loooooves me.

Jeez. Firm no. But it's left me understandably a bit discombobulated. But also, and I'm not proud of this, a bit satisfied that he's suffering the way he made me suffer.

Just had to get that off my chest!

Och poor guy, his drinking really is screwing him up, isn't it.

First off, his AP turned partner possibly wants rid of him due to it; or at the very least they're not getting on swimmingly due to it.

Secondly, he's too drunk when making his pitch at his ex; to be discrete enough not to let his true intent/motivation leak through ..... He doesn't want you back op, he wants his cosy, comfortable spot in your home back.

In fact if he'd wanted you in the first place, he'd not have got himself another woman. And he'd not be talking about your area, your house, your garden, whether you still live alone etc etc now.

He's a cheating cock lodger.

He either wants out, she wants him out, they both do ...or at the very least, he thinks he might be out; so he's trying to set himself up a soft landing.

His MO certainly doesn't change .... Always sets up the next woman & home (in your case the ex and next, he's thinking) before jumping ship.

Him : Do you still love me?
Me: I just don't think about you.

Him: Are you okay though?
Me: That's not your concern any more.
Him: But I think it is, I'm so so sorry.
Me: No, I stopped being your concern when you started your affair.

Love this! You go girl!

Newestname002 · 12/11/2023 11:36

I'd just block him now because even if he'd just phoned/texted the once he'd be using too much of your mental oxygen for such a valueless person. Send him back into the void and get on with your own life. What he says and does now has no weight in your life and he can sink without any more trace in yours. 🌹

LearnFromMyMistakes · 12/11/2023 11:42

Don't ever look back, where was he when you needed him?
You dealt with it really well, thank him mentally for the lesson he taught you and no doubt in time you will definitely meet someone miles better.
His loss and not yours.

LucyvanderPelt · 13/11/2023 18:04

@Georgeburgess No, it was about an ex-girlfriend (I think Suzy Rotolo). There’s a line “I don’t even mind who you’ll be waking with tomorrow”, so definitely not about his mother(!) Now I’m in the mood to listen to some Dylan and I’ll probably end up maudlin!

Stay strong. Got they're pathetic. Text book. Have heard it all myself albeit different circumstances, but how embarrassing for him.

You sound brilliant x

IvorTheEngineDriver · 14/11/2023 09:48

OW's dumped him then.

Justleaveitblankthen · 14/11/2023 16:53

ReadySalty · 14/11/2023 16:55

He needs is ego boost once more and he thinks he can get it from you.

Worse than that, it sounds like he needs/wants somewhere to stay from op.

He'd leaking his true intent out all over the place.. mentioning missing living there, missing the garden, asking if she's living alone (is the spot still open/available as partner and co habiter in your house? ..is what that really means).

Edited

Definitely this. He's looking for a cockidging arrangement.
