I been with husband for 26yrs, we are in the process of a divorce due to domestic voilence, physical, emotional and financial. The split has been going on for 2yrs. My husband at first refused to split, then asked for £50.000 and he would leave, this was a yr ago. He is in and out of employment, has trouble keeping a job, is unemployed since march and not actively looking for work, says he will in a month etc, but I don't think he has any intention. Not sure what to do next.

Make an appointment to see a solicitor now. By which I mean right now. It's scary but you will feel much better once you've done it.

Do not hand over 50k. Speak to the solicitor and get proper legal advice.
