FML: Had a crush, got the ick, now un-got the ick, crush has returned. How can I get the ick again?

I had a ridiculous crush on a guy. He's a part-time model and fitness instructor. He's 10 years younger than me. He's sexy and beautiful. We get on really well. It was absolutely ridiculous and cliche.

Then I saw a picture of him modeling a really ugly outfit. It was a green jacket. He was modeling it on a really hot day in a conservatory-type room. And I could see armpit hair. Something clicked in my head, a little voice saying "He's a sweaty teenage mutant ninja turtle". My fanny shriveled and my crush almost instantly disappeared.

Wonderful.

We went a few weeks seeing each other with no problems. No crush. No fanny gallops.

Then I saw him yesterday. And he looked hot as hell. And we had a great time. And now my crush is back. I've looked back at the turtle photo but it's not working. It's not giving me the ick again.

Fuck. So now I'm stuck back with this ridiculous crush.

How can I give myself the ick again, please?

You could attempt to wank whilst watching the 1980s TMNT movie? That would act like a bucket of cold water for most people.

And aside from the sheer cringe, I'm not sure the crush is particularly reciprocated [though I do look for love kernels every time we talk because I'm a loser]. I don't want to make a total minge of myself. And get hurt. And ruin our friendship.

Oh enjoy the crush if you are single, it'll probably pass of its own accord! You don't have to lose control of your senses, you can still moderate your behaviour!
