Friend of a former friend - would this be unreasonable?

A close friend gave me the number of one of her friends recently as he lives round the corner, is apparently very trustworthy and would be up for looking after my cat if I go away.

However, close friend and I have since fallen out. Would it be unreasonable to still contact her friend for a coffee and a chat about cat sitting? Or would that be cheeky? They don’t see each other often and never got the impression they were properly close, but I don’t want to overstep or invite any drama.

If the friend of a friend said to pass their number on I see no reason you can’t phone.
