Husband has terrible wind and foul smelling bowel movements. I am not sure how much longer I can take it.

Husband of 30+ years developed a hernia years ago.
Has been refused an operation as he won't lose weight. He has now developed foul smelling poos and stinks out the whole house. He also farts throughout the night. He has been tested for bowel cancer and he tells me it was negative.
He is spotlessly clean but I no longer fancy certain types of sex if any. He has bed breath too.
My mother died of bowel cancer as did his father. He takes a stomach tablet. I feel we have lost our relationship and sex life. The smell makes me gag. I wasn't even good with nappies.
What do I do?

I've just realised that you said he was denied his hernia op 8 years ago. Has he not seen a doctor since then?
SO much can change physically in 8 years! He needs to go to the doctor.

Thank you all for the replies.
I am not going to divorce him!
Every room has candles and diffusers.
I do have an extra sensitive nose and I married him over others as he had a great smell. Let's say my nose is part of my professional skills.
Sadly I have found out he is being tested again for bowel cancer. When I was nursing my late mother I put Vic under my nose. Bad smells are my pet hate.
He has also bought lactose free probotics and milk. I did mention cohns and coeliac disease to him. He didn't argue.
His pudding habit isn't mine. He sneaks it in. Always has done. He ate my Easter egg! He doesn't drink or smoke. He eats all wholemeal food and a good diet. He isn't diabetic and doesn't have high cholesterol or blood pressure. He is 6'5'' with a size 13/14 foot. He is an ex semi professional athlete. His job now is physical and he rarely sits down at work.
Hopefully we will now get some answers.
Many thanks to all.

You don’t have to be massively overweight to have been denied surgery. It is often now used as a rationing tool to cut costs. In my area varicose veins and hernias are only affected if BMI less than 30.
