Who is in a happy long-term relationship? What's it like?

Who is in a happy long-term relationship?

Do you feel content? And loved? What's your favourite thing about your relationship? Is there respect and love?

There's another thread going on called 'why do people stay in unhappy relationships'.

Just wanted to hear about the opposite - i.e. those who have been together a long time, and still bring each other joy.

Thank you.

Been with my husband 15 years and married for 7. We just enjoy each others company. If I've had a shitty day he is who I want to tell. If either of us is struggling the other supports them. I feel loved every day. Just can't imagine lift without him, since the moment we met there was something about him. We aren't perfect by any means and life isn't always exciting, but definitely happy.

Yes we are. Married for 1 year, together for 11. We do well because we’ve always maintained being independent in our interests, hobbies, friends etc. and supported each other in our careers. I don’t believe in soulmates - we met at the right time and we make it work

I agree, I don't believe in soul mates either. I think relationships take work and when you notice you are drifting apart you stop and make the choice to put more work in and come back together. Not that it's always hard work but you need to never stop making an effort with each other

Soulmates are real x
