Are there organisations to support men trying to leave abusive relationships?

For women, I know there are women's refuges and Women's Aid. Is there any support available for men? A friend of mine, a very kind, gentle man, is trapped in a relationship that is verbally abusive. He has repeatedly tried to leave and been pressured to stay. I won't go into any further details, as they could be outing, but would be grateful for any info I could pass on to my friend.

I have suggested therapy and he is considering it, but it's obviously an expense and involves finding a good therapist, so if there are any organisations that provide relevant support it would be great to know about them.

If you Google 'male victim domestic abuse support' there are lots of results. I hope he can leave his abuser soon.

abuse within a relationship is awful, no matter what sex you are - if your friend would like to come on here and get support from those of us who have been/are going through it, we'd be very happy to help him.
