I'm looking for advice re: therapy for my extended family (grown adults with their own children + their parents) to resolve some long-standing stress, communication malfunction, and general dysfunction. Has anyone ever done this, and if so, has it helped? Any recommendations of where to begin to look for a therapist? It would need to be online only due to distance between where several family members live. Many thanks.

Firstly - you would have to ask those family members if they would be willing to participate in a committed ongoing manner . Also work out who is reponsible for paying .

Then you would have to look for a suitable therapist - this is group work so not all therapists would want it .

You could search on BACP website or Counselling Directory

AFT would be better than bacp for this, the association for family therapists.
