Am I being unreasonable?

My boyfriend of 5 years has a close female friend that he regularly meets up with for dinner. When I asked if I could meet her he said that he would really like us to meet but when he asked her she told him she didn’t want to meet me as she is socially awkward. It has caused arguments between us as I feel uncomfortable with them meeting up now. She even refuses to double date with us when she is seeing a guy. Every-time we we argue about this situation my boyfriend gets defensive and says I’m trying to make him choose between me and her which I am not but I just feel like she doesn’t want to accept me being his girlfriend due to all the excuses about not meeting me. I don’t know how to resolve this situation?

You are not being unreasonable. You’ve never met her during your five-year relationship? I think that’s fairly rude on her part, and disrespectful. It’s not like you want to stop him from seeing her. Social anxiety is one thing, but I’m guessing she meets other people on a first time basis in her day-to-day life.

That's the thing he told me she uses tinder and meets guys from there so I feel like the socially awkward comment is bad excuse.

Either

  1. He's sleeping with her and tells HER you're the friend. He also tells get you're socially awkward and so don't want to meet.
  1. She's into him so doesn't want to meet you. She wants you to be insecure.
  1. She's a disrespectful cow.
(My male mate gets a new gf I meet her as soon as possible to put her mind at ease. It's basically respect).

Either way I'd be done with him, hes taking the piss.
