does anyone know of any websites where you can post details of someone you may have met at the weekend in the hope that that person reads it or someone that knows them does.

My friend met a very nice young man on a girlie break this weekend and knows a fair bit about him but not his surname to try and trace on facebook, Ill love to at least try and do something for her.

Try www.gumtree.ie and in the section dating there is missed connections. It's exactly what your looking for. GOOD LUCK!

Sorry, meant gumtree uk. There are a list of cities on the right hand side of home page and you need to select the city first!

There's Isawyou.com I think

VictorianSqualor · 19/02/2008 13:33

What details does she know about him?
There are lots of ways to trace someone apart from the websites, tbh I wouldnt look on a website to see if anyone had posted about me iyswim. So it would take a lot more.

Agree with VS.

If she knows line of work, hometown, first name, schools, family members names, etc. most people are quite easily findable.

lourobert · 19/02/2008 13:39

I agree that the internet is a huge longshot but nevertheless worth a try. it was someone that we met on a night out recently so she doesnt have that much to go on.

Thanks though ladies and if I have a breakthrough Ill let yoy know

Where did you meet them? Find out there job? Age? Any hobbies? Hometown? etc, there was a thread like this a few months back, not sure if they ever found the guy but there were a lot of suggestions.

we were in amsterdam for the weekend and he was in the army although shortly due to be leaving when he is going to train as a plumber. She knows his first name and that hes a liverpool supporter........nothing substantial to go on at all.

Maybe post on the forces sweethearts? They may have an idea which army people would've been in amsterdam?

littlewoman · 20/02/2008 17:58

How about calling the local radio station for his area? Play him a dedication etc. Might work.

littlewoman · 20/02/2008 18:00

oh, yes they have an army radio station don't they. I play it on the car radio. Could try them.
