Will I ever have another relationship?

Hello I’m a 37 year old single mum of 3, I have been single since separating from my long term partner and Dcs dad 2 years ago. In that time I’ve never had any kind of relationship, flirtation, sex or anything. I’ve never even met a man I thought it could be a possibility with.

Recently I have felt like I would like to meet someone I could potentially have a relationship with but for several reason it feels like it would be difficult for me. The main reason for is my appearance/ body. I had been with my ex for a long time (since I was 19) my body has changed so much with age, kids etc and I feel like general standards have changed so much in that time too. I don’t feel like I would ever feel comfortable having sex with someone new. However even just my face is a problem I’m not really ‘attractive’ by any standards and obviously this has only worsened as I’ve got older. I also have wonky teeth which is quite unusual these days but I can’t afford to have them straightened.

Secondly I have no interest in having a partner involved in my kids lives, it would be a very long time before I would feel ready to introduce anyone to my kids while they are still young and I definitely would never live with anyone again while my kids are at home, or possibly ever, as I like having my own space too much! So any potential relationship would have to be on these terms and I’m not sure how easy it would be to meet someone who felt the same?

Has anyone been in a similar situation and met someone and can share a success story with me? Or any other advice appreciated!
