The number of people on here sounding like no marriage following pre marital sex ever runs into sexual problems.....

Of course many do but if you're not married and decide it's something you can't make work, it's easier to walk away.

No for a number of reasons:

  1. Sex is an essential part of a relationship in my opinion- otherwise it's just a friendship
  2. I think it takes a lot of self discipline to remain celibate & I wouldn't be compatible with someone that displiclined
  3. It would also tell me that we view things very differently - again incompatibility
  4. Having sex has changed the way, I've felt about someone, some positively & some negatively
  5. I've been surprised by how some men were in bed & very different to what I expected - you can't prejudge it based on character
  6. I believe marriage is for life. Don't get me wrong I think people should get divorced but my starting point is that I would intend to have sex with this person & only this person for the rest of forever - I would need to know we were compatible beforehand
  7. To me marraige is a far bigger deal than sex so I just wouldn't understand the logic
  8. I'm not religious, don't mind of my partner is but again incompatibile if they were strict about it
  9. I cannot understand the downside of sex before marraige bit I can see a huge downside with waiting

With all that said, I still don't think someone should compromise their values for their partner & are probably better off waiting for a partner that shares similar values.

They wouldn’t tick all of my boxes.
love sex and anti religion.

Who said it was anything to do with religion?

Flashingtealights · 15/04/2023 01:40

No. It wouldn’t even be because I was worried they might be rubbish in bed. It would be more because they were forcing their will/beliefs (call it what you want) onto me. That wouldn’t work, no way

suburbophobe · 15/04/2023 01:44

I'd want to know if we were sexually compatible before marriage.

I run away from any religious nutters anyway, whether Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Jehovah's, Trump-types, Charles Manson nutters, New Age nutters, etc. There's even Buddhist weirdos around.

Some people who are not comfortable in their skin hang onto religion. And make a power play of it.

Hell no!

I do like people who are into spirituality, but leave each to their own.

A quick Google suggests there is a loophole, OP.

Shame they didn’t discuss all the permanent injuries young women are getting from this practice.
